Flooring Installation
The floor is the largest surface you touch. We check what is underneath, then install a finish that fits the room’s moisture, traffic, and the way you want it to sound.
Before a board or tile is ordered we look at the subfloor. Squeaks, dips, old adhesive, and moisture tell us whether the new floor will sit quietly or telegraph every fault. A pretty plank on a moving base will open at the joints. We level, fasten, or recommend a different product before that happens.
Timber and engineered boards are acclimated in the home. Expansion gaps, transitions at doorways, and the direction of the boards are drawn, not improvised. Stairs and nosings are part of the scope when the floor changes level, so you are not left with a raw edge.
Tile floors get the same respect for flatness. Lippage is a trip and a shadow line. We use the right trowel, keep joints consistent, and choose grout you can actually clean in a kitchen or entry. Heated floors, where wanted, are planned with the electrician before the mortar goes down.
When we leave, the floor is clean, the transitions are tight, and you have a note on cleaners, felt pads, and how soon rugs can go down. Rugs too early on a new finish can scar it. We would rather tell you the dull truth than have you discover it.

Questions households ask
Sometimes. We will not bury a soft, damp, or uneven floor to save a day. If an overlay is sound, we say so and price it. If it is not, removal is the honest path.
A finish that can meet water at the sink and a grout or plank you are willing to maintain. We talk through spills, pets, and bare feet before you commit.
It depends on the finish. Site-finished timber needs a cure window. Click-together floors can take light furniture sooner. The schedule names the day.
We can often weave in boards of a similar species and width. An invisible match to a floor that has aged for decades is rare, and we will not promise it.
